Yoga comfort, office cut
These are cut from the same polyester and spandex knit as activewear, with a waistband that is softer and wider than a trouser band. What makes them dress pants is the shape below it: a wide leg with belt loops and angled pockets, a straight leg that narrows slightly at the ankle, or a bootcut with a faux fly on the front.
A knit this soft shows what is under it, so choose the dark colors for a light office and smooth underwear under the pale ones. They wash in a machine on cold and dry without much wrinkling, which is the other reason people wear them to work. Skip the dryer on high heat. Spandex loses its recovery there first.
