Where a bootcut beats a straight leg
A bootcut is fitted through the hip and thigh and widens from the knee down. That opening is the point: it clears an ankle boot in winter and balances a heel without the volume of a wide leg. Most of the pairs here have a faux fly, so the front looks like a zipped trouser while the waist pulls on.
