What a pull-on waistband changes about your workday
You step in and pull up. That is the whole closure, and it is why these pants are here and not on a shelf of trousers with a fly. Most of them are cut from a polyester and spandex knit with stretch in both directions, so the waistband sits flat when you sit down at a desk and comes back when you stand up. Several keep a faux fly or a decorative button on the front, which makes them read as trousers under a blazer.
The legs are where they differ. The straight legs fall from the hip to a clean hem, the wide legs swing and look best with a heel, and the bootcut styles open below the knee over a boot or a block heel. If you are between sizes, go by your waist rather than your hip: the knit gives at the hip, and a waistband that is too loose slides down by the afternoon.
